What to expect

The permanent exhibition presents around 3,500 pieces divided into geographical areas: Oceania, Asia, Africa and the Americas. The exhibition is presented as a 'circuit' in a continuous manner, on either side of a central aisle conceived to resemble a river. Themed spaces or "boxes" punctuate the exhibition path to provide particular illumination of a specific region or type of work. The desire to present these rich and varied collections and the fragility of some works lead to frequent museographic changes.

  • please double-check the opening hours on the official website of the museum before visiting
  • purses, small handbags and laptop bags will need to pass the security control
  • for the "Mexica" exhibition (from April 3rd to September 8th): the tickets will grant you access, but given the exhibition's scenography, and the number of visitors expected, the reservation online on the Museum website for a time slot will be mandatory.
