What to expect

Tenerife's Mount Teide National Park boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery and views in all the archipelago. Crowned by the volcanic peak of Mount Teide, this natural wilderness takes on an otherworldly quality as the setting sun glazes its ridges and rocks in soft pinks, reds and purples.

The skies and atmospheric conditions above Teide – the highest mountain in Spain – are among the best in the world for stargazing. You'll be driven high up into the craggy wilderness of the national park, with lots of photo stops along the way.

As daylight fades, watch the setting sun fire this landscape in a blaze of colour. Then, once darkness has fallen, we'll continue on to a special viewpoint where your professional guide will map out the night sky for you, explaining the starry constellations. And to top it all, a three-course dinner sets the seal on the whole magical outing.

Isobel was fab as our guide with excellent knowledge and a great sense of humour. Loved her laser pen to point at the stars. Also must mention the driver whose name began with a rolling R! He managed all the bends really well and parked the coach in some tight spots. Felt very safe with his driving and we also got dropped very near to our accommodation at the end of the night..closer than out starting point.

Our guide and driver were excellent. The rmeal was okay - my chicken was fine but my wife's was dry and chewy.. The stargazing experience was enjoyable but maybe some of the well known constellations (Orion/The Bear/ The Plough etc) could have been pointed out.

Isabelle and our driver (Michaelangelo) were fantastic and couldn’t do anymore for us. Attentive, informative, entertaining. We felt safe and relaxed. The views were so beautiful as we drove and to watch a sunset above the clouds-wow! The 3 course dinner was basic, a little disappointing but the soup was nice and wine/beer fabulous.. Stargazing was awesome! I will never forget seeing Saturn with my own eyes (through a telescope). It was amazing! Great trip if you can afford it. Thank you

VIP La Gomera by minivan tour from north of Tenerife

The pine forests and coastal cliffs of northern Tenerife give it a natural and rugged look, but it's the volcanic, fertile soil that provides the area with its star attractions. From vineyards and orchards to banana farms and ancient trees, you'll see and taste Tenerife's home-grown highlights on this half-day tour.First up is Icod de los Vinos, a 16th-century town with a great view of Mount Teide. But even Spain's highest peak can't steal the attention away from the Drago Milenario, a thousand-year-old dragon tree that takes pride of place in the town's botanical gardens. This incredible specimen stands at over 20 metres tall with a canopy that's spread to over 300 main branches. Your guide will explain more about why this native tree is a cultural symbol of the Canaries during your visit. While in Icod de los Vinos, you'll see lines of the town's other treasure growing up and down the hillsides – bananas. You'll head into the San Blas Environmental Reserve, a 500,000-square-metre area that showcases the island's volcanic past in all its glory.
