What to expect

Enjoy a perfect day at Loro Parque with your family!

Located on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife, Loro Parque is one of the top attractions in the Canaries, where you can discover incredible animal habitats.

The park was initially conceived as a paradise for parrots and has developed over the years into one of the biggest attractions of the Canary Islands, with over 40 million visitors and counting.

Loro Parque is one of the most respected zoological gardens in the world and is famous for its exceptional beauty, excellent facilities and installations, and its focus on nature and the environment. It is the first such park in the world to have been awarded the Environmental Certification of Animal Embassy. Let yourself be inspired by its incredible facilities, where the natural habitat of the animals has been perfectly recreated. The world-famous shows, among which the Orca Ocean spectacle deserves special mention are waiting for you. Loro Parque is the most popular wildlife park in the Canary Islands and is without a doubt a "Must" on the Tenerife island.

You can also buy the Twin (click here) to visit both Loro Parque and Siam Park. Siam Park is also in Tenerife's Aquatic Park. With the Twin Ticket, you must visit the second park within 15 days of the visit to the first park.

Loro Parque Exhibitions

AquaViva

The exhibition contains an area of 500m² and 65,000 liters of sea water, of which 25,000 liters are meant for the aquariums and the breeding area of the jellyfish. The other 40,000 liters go into an aquarium made for beautiful blacktip reef sharks, oceanic whitetip sharks and hundreds of colorful tropical fish.

Zen Garden

This new exhibition takes visitors on a journey to the majestic mountain ranges of Asia. It is the first garden of its kind to be built ever, and the sensations it evokes remind us of Atlantis, the famous submerged city.

Porcelain Parrot Museum

This unique museum brings together a collection of works of art made by the great masters of porcelainware over the last three centuries.

Orquidario

Here you can appreciate the beauty of over 200 species of orchids. Embrace the sweet fragrance while watching the wealth of shapes and colors that these beautiful flowers make.

Coral Kingdom

In March 2024, the park reached new heights with the grand inauguration of its latest and most impressive attraction – the Coral Kingdom. This groundbreaking addition stands as the largest man-made coral reef outside of the ocean and has garnered immense success since its unveiling. Corals are one of the most endangered species on our planet and Loro Parque integrates them into its conservation programs.

Nestled within the park's carefully designed spaces tailored for each species, the Coral Kingdom offers visitors a unique journey into the underwater realm. As you wander through the Animal Embassy, you'll find yourself immersed in the vibrant world of a vast parrot reserve showcasing species from around the globe.

Kinderlandia

The perfect place for the kids! Suspended bridges from trees, small and large, are waiting to be crossed and climbed. Try the slithery-snake tunnel slide. To add to the excitement, the Kinderlandia fairy is always nearby with games, face-painting, music and fun.

Katandra Treetops

Katandra, in the native language of the Australian Aborigines, means 'song of the birds' and Treetops, of course, refers to the uppermost part of the forest. Loro Parque invites you to experience a veritable symphony of sounds from the beautiful birds of Australia and Asia. This is a huge and spectacular attraction where hundreds of colorful birds of different species are just waiting to surprise you with their charm!

Planet Penguin

Discover the Antarctic and feel the polar climate in the world's largest penguinarium!

Aquarium

The Loro Parque Aquarium consists of twelve different thematic exhibitions with a total of 1,200,000 liters of water. All the water that feeds the marine aquariums is obtained directly from the Atlantic Ocean, on the coast located just 150 meters away from the park.

Baby Station

This is the zone located inside Animal Embassy that shows visitors how to care for baby parrots and other chicks that hatch in the ZOO.

Jungle Ara

Welcome to the oldest part of Loro Parque. This area surprises visitors with its lush and leafy vegetation. Ficus, ivy, palms and many other species of trees make this place a true oasis for relaxation and connection with nature.

Pueblo Thai

Did you know that the largest Thai village outside Thailand is in Tenerife? The Thai Village, the first amazing structure you will see on entering the park, has been meticulously constructed to the very last detail to give visitors the warmest of welcomes and to sweep you away to exotic, oriental places.

North West Tenerife Hidden Secrets Guided Tour with Transport

It's one pretty village after another on this exclusive tour in the rugged northwest of Tenerife. We'll drop in at a roll call of the island's must-visits. Christian, one of our local experts, says, ‘A guide shows you around the park in Icod de los Vinos and gives you the lowdown on its fascinating dragon tree, which is 20 metres tall.' Santiago del Teide, local speciality tasting and a trip to Teno Rural Park are also part of the line-up.You'll journey through Santiago del Teide, a highland village of whitewashed homes. In Icod de Los Vinos, you'll admire the centuries-old dragon tree, with some free time to wander around the town. Garachico – often called the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' – awaits with some interesting history. Devastated by a volcanic eruption in 1706 and rebuilt on its lava, it's now famous for natural lava pools, guarded by a volcanic rock castle, where locals and visitors alike come to bathe. When it's time to take a break, there's a tasty local lunch, served in a family-run restaurant in a traditional finca. Teno Rural Park showcases the island's rich biodiversity and is known as the source of Tenerife's top-quality natural produce. You'll even get to try some locally made marmalades and jams, all produced with a minimum carbon footprint. The ‘lost hamlet' of Masca is also on the cards, one of Tenerife's most eye-catching spots, dramatically perched on a ridge overlooking a valley.

Full Day Tenerife Tour with La Laguna and Lunch
Excursions & day trips

Full Day Tenerife Tour with La Laguna and Lunch

Dusty and lunar-like in the south, green and mountainous in the north, Tenerife packs a continent into one island. Think quaint villages, stunning views and a local lunch on this full day experience. You'll visit the UNESCO-listed old town of La Laguna, drop into a bodega for lunch and explore an aloe vera plantation. Arianne, one of our local expert guides, says, ‘Canarian bananas are smaller but thicker, and their peel has dark speckles. The pulp is yellower, and it should be eaten riper, which makes it sweeter.'First up is a visit to an aloe vera plantation. Here, you'll learn about the healing qualities – especially skincare – of this crop. Then it's on to La Laguna, arguably the prettiest town on the island. Throw in its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it makes for a real gem of a stop. Wander its poker-straight streets of pastel-coloured palaces and colonial-era churches and convents, or stop for a coffee in one of the cool tree-lined plazas. Taste local products such as marmalade and cheese in the weekly market and admire the town's famous flower displays. It's then on to a family-run bodega for a typical Canarian lunch surrounded by vintage bottles and aged barrels. All ingredients are seasonal and locally sourced to reduce the environmental impact. And it goes without saying that some of the bodega's wines will be served with the food.

Teide National Park Tour with Expert Local Guide

Teide National Park Tour with Expert Local Guide

Tenerife is a medley of picture-postcard villages, high-octane viewpoints and otherworldly landscapes. And nowhere more so than in Teide National Park. On this full day tour, you'll wind your way up the slopes of Mount Teide volcano, where an optional cable car ride can take you to the summit. Juana, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Teide National Park and the surrounding Corona Forestal Nature Reserve together account for one third of Tenerife's land mass – the extent to which the volcano dominates our island is indescribable.'Dramatic volcanic landscapes await as you venture into Teide National Park to see the showstopper itself – the 3,700-metre Mount Teide. As you climb, you'll pass through four different climate zones, which create an ever-changing kaleidoscope of terrains, flora and fauna. And because of its geological importance, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Juana says, ‘The park boasts a variety of camera-grabbing landscapes. There's the scorched earth of the lava fields, the jagged rock formations of Roques de Garcia, the Mars-like badlands around Montaña Rajada and the pine forests of the Corona Forestal.'As an optional extra, you can avail of the cable car service to just below the summit of the volcano. From this altitude, weather permitting, you can enjoy head-spinning views over Tenerife and the rest of the Canary archipelago jutting up from the Atlantic. Alternatively, you might get to see the famous ‘sea of clouds' that often hovers beneath the summit.

La Gomera boasts unspoilt landscapes and a distinct culture all of its own. On this tour, you'll visit this Jurassic-like island and discover Garajonay National Park, a string of villages and the charming capital, San Sebastian. Arianne, one of our guides, says of the island, ‘La Gomera is a totally different world – it's a return to the past, to the origin of the Canary Islands.'The star of the show is without doubt Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a mishmash of deep ravines and gorges filled with ancient, misty laurel forests and rare plant life. On a visit to its interpretative centre, you'll find out about its botany and history. You'll also get to know hamlets such as oasis-like Chejelipes, which is on the banks of a reservoir, and the northern villages of Hermigua and Aguilo. One of the highlights is a visit to a family-run restaurant famed for its jaw-dropping views over the island's volcanic landscapes. Here, you'll enjoy a typical lunch made from locally sourced ingredients. And you'll get you to learn about local culture, too. There's a demonstration of the unique-to-the-island ‘whistling language' known as 'silbo gomero'. To round off the experience, there's free time to explore San Sebastian. Here, you can follow in the footsteps of Columbus before he began his first voyage of discovery. More than a visit to another island, a trip to La Gomera is a journey to another era.
