Things to do in Douro River
As it meanders across northern Portugal, the Douro River treats visitors to a variety of treasures to experience from the water. Set sail to explore the breathtaking beauty of the Douro Valley. This UNESCO site is one of the oldest wine regions in the world, famous for producing Port wine. Whether it's a boat tour, river cruise or sailing experience, you’ll be able to take in the scenic landscapes, vineyards and charming villages from a different perspective. As you glide along, look out for traditional ‘Rabelo’ boats making their way across the river too.
River Douro is the third largest River on the Iberian Peninsular and it’s also a great way to see Porto from a unique point of view. Hop on and sail through the city, admiring some of the best monuments and bridges that span the river and make up Porto’s skyline. Look out for the Maria Pia Bridge, São João Bridge and the most famous Dom Luís I Bridge. This impressive double-deck iron bridge was designed by Gustave Eiffel's apprentice Théophile Seyrig.

Reviews Douro River
“Great tour brilliantly organised Dour Valley not to be Missed in PortoExcellent very informative guide Slimy very entertainingWe had an amazing experience”
“It was a long and very full day. Entirely worth it! Great guide (Slimmy) and really interesting content.”
“Our guide was excellent. The trip overall was good with the visit to the Croft vineyard being first class. Our lunch venue was great with good company. The river trip was over crowded with a total lack of commentary for what was a fascinating and historic landscape.”
“Very enjoyable, particularly the winery visit which was very informative. Boat cruise is slightly disappointing however due to requirement to navigate a steep slope and numerous steep stairs down to the waterfront, then a sizeable walk to the dock. Cruise itself was very good though.”
