Things to do in Potsdamer Platz
Think New York, Dubai, Tokyo with ultra-modern skyscrapers, architecture, and buzzing lights! This is what you can expect from Potsdamer Platz (Potsdamer Square) in Berlin, a fresh hub of business and entertainment that never sleeps.
After a rocky start being destroyed in WWII and divided by the Berlin Wall, when German unification happened in 1990, Potsdamer Platz finally got its mojo back! As the symbol of a new and modern Berlin, it only makes sense that the innovative Sony Center can be found at the heart of the Platz. Be amazed by its colour-changing roof! There’s even a Museum of Film and Television and Legoland Discovery Center inside.
Close by you’ll find the Bahn Tower with a QR code that you can scan for an interactive journey. Want to take some fantastic shots of the city from above? Whizz to the 24th floor of the Koller Tower on Europe’s fastest elevator (100 meters in just 20 seconds!) to the observation deck!
The Platz is home to a variety of cinemas and the theatre even gets the red carpet out every year ready to host the Berlinale, Berlin’s International Film Festival! Don’t miss out on the Boulevard of Stars, Berlin’s very own Walk of Fame too.
From shopping at the Arkaden (with over 120 shops) to wining and dining at the many eateries on offer, there’s so much to do. The Platz also organises events such as the Christmas Market, International Children’s Day and Light Festival.
